Abstract: The dyslexia studies examine the process of writing in children in order to explore the
causal factors leading to dyslexia, the clarification of symptoms and the attendant
disorders. They proclaim the existence of a close relationship between the symptoms of
dyslexia and the abilities of processing input, language, senses, perception, attention,
memory, as well as the development of speech in pre-school years. The present study
aims at locating the errors in writing that constitute the diagnostic criteria for the
classification of dyslexia. The categorization of errors in groups leads to the location of
the respective types of dyslexia. The errors in text writing can be categorized in groups,
according to the disorder in the acoustic-cognitive, visual-spatial or linguistic process of
information. Developmental dyslexia can be categorized in forms of acoustic, visual and
linguistic dyslexia, as well as a mixed form, according to the errors the children present
in text writing.
